I had this realization and damn near broke. I knew my boss had plans for my career, and understand long term this is going to be both intellectually and financially rewarding, but I have spent thr last 28 years working on an Ambulance at least some. There is a strong likelihood in the next 2 years I am going to have my last ambulance run. At that point I am going to be a Paramedic on paper. There will be a day that people won't know what I actually have done. I will literally be a desk medic. The sad part is, I won't turn it down. And I don't have a place to dump this anywhere. My life is changing and I am 50 years old. And it dawned on me I have had several bosses at different places setting me up for this.
